AUTHORS TEACH COUPLES HOW TO HAVE "HOLY SEX"
"Celebrate Marriage" Conferences Scheduled Across the Country

(Nashville, TN)-You know you are at a different kind of marriage retreat when the
host yells, "Holy Sex, Batman!" Authors and conference hosts Jay and Laura Laffoon
have been teaching couples how to have what they call "holy sex" for the past 12
years. Their Celebrate Marriage conferences have been held across the U.S. with
over 20,000 couples participating since 1996. Their new book entitled THE SPARK:
Igniting the Passion, Mystery and Romance in Your Marriage(Baker Books) is a
culmination of their observations of what makes marriages thrive or fail in today's
society.

THE SPARK in a marriage, as Jay and Laura describe it, comes from five facets of
intimacy: Social Intimacy ("you need to have a strong friendship"), Mental Intimacy
("you are BOTH intelligent and can capitalize on each other's strengths"), Emotional
Intimacy ("you have to keep emotional energy in your tank to give to your spouse"),
Physical Intimacy ("sex isn't about the act of intercourse, it's the glue that holds
marriages together"), as well as Spiritual Intimacy. The book highlights issues
raised during their conferences from in-depth surveys of over 2000 couples who have
attended their events.

THE SPARK was recently featured in Crossings Book Club which boasts approximately
one million members. The Laffoons have appeared on several radio and tv shows and
networks including Focus On The Family (heard on over 3000 radio stations), LeSea tv
(45 million homes), and FamilyNet tv (30 million homes), among many others.

After meeting on a blind date over 23 years ago, Jay and Laura were engaged only ten
days later. Before starting their conferences in 1995, Jay Laffoon served as an
Executive Director in Youth for Christ for 15 years. Both he and Laura are certified
instructors from Dynamic Communications International. Jay also serves as chaplain
for the PGA Tour. Laura grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and attended Montreat Anderson
College and Belhaven College in Jackson, MS, graduating with a degree in Social
Ministries. She served as the National Director of Youth for Christ's Junior High
division where she received the organization's highest honor--the Presidential Award
for Excellence.

Combining humor, music, and lots of honesty, the Laffoons' Celebrate Marriage
conferences are designed for married couples or for couples contemplating marriage.
